Hello. Hallo. Hola. Salut!
I’m Olga, an analyst in Product and a former chess player. Originally from Moldova and based in Berlin.
My background is in B2B startups and I'm passionate about education. Currently growing products at Visable, and previously at the fintechs Pliant and finleap connect.
My motto: There is nothing that can’t be learned. If you don’t know it today, you’ll know it tomorrow.
I believe that life is all about decisions—whether in business or everyday life. I share insights on how to identify blind spots, which models to use for solving problems, and how to improve decision-making. I won’t lie, my chess experience has taught me a lot of lessons, so I do write substantially on that. Subscribe to my newsletter and get the knowledge donuts.
Making decisions
Do our credit customers spend, and if not, what are the reasons?

Results:
Six different cluster purchasers are identified, from active to non-active customers.
Can we identify animals with higher adoption potential?
Assist shelter staff in optimizing their time by predicting the outcome for each animal that enters the shelter. The project includes EDA and a Random Forest model.
Results:
The probabilities of each animal being adopted are derived.
To which health insurance customers can we offer vehicle insurance?
Support the Sales team to target health insurance customers who are likely interested in vehicle insurance. The project includes EDA and predictive modelling.
Results:
The outcomes of a customer being interested in vehicle insurance are derived.
My data story
… did not happen right away.
I moved to Berlin in 2016, the year when Trump was elected and Brexit was being discussed in the Microeconomics class at University.
It was during my Business studies that I first heard about Data Science. Encouraged by a friend who was working in the field, I decided to get into it. I started taking online courses and learning to code in my spare time. Later I landed my first job in a credit card start-up.
Exploring and learning new things? There you got me. I taught myself to sleep at the age of 2 (my mom adored me), played checkers against myself at 5, taught myself how to read in Russian and entered my first chess tournament by the age of 7.
